FarmFest 2026, Toowoomba….

Always a great day and yep it was cold and windy, but not as bad as some years. We all went this year, survived without too many fights and whining, and walked the entire thing in a few hours. We were on a mission and meant business!!

‍Some highlights for this year were Berlex Group, these guys made our 2022 Flood Fishing shirts. We gifted them to the crew that helps us for nearly a month, getting our fences up and back on our feet after Ex Tropical Cyclone Seth tried to wash us away. Can’t wait to check out their catalogue, they had some amazing stuff on show. One of the boys scored the best win on the Wheel Spin. The quality of this hat is 10/10.

University of New England, AU hands down my favourite stop. Out of the wind and huge range of educational resources. The kids spent heaps of time on the microscope with the most amazingly knowledgeable and helpful scientist, learning how to identify the bugs you can catch in the creek and the dam, and how they can help understand your water quality. Some much information and great take homes.

‍UNE SOIL HEALTH exhibit – Soil your undies – it was really cool!! I’ve seen it talked about online but never close up. They have so much information about soil health and some really passionate educators. So great to see this is the kind of information, learning and resources rolling out to their Ag students on campus too.

Commonwealth Bank– the bus was heaps of fun for the kids. Scammer trainer, VR and great prizes, all the while Supporting our good friends at Farm Angels which is one my favourite not for profits based out at Chinchilla

Eco Growth – the serious stop. These guys were awesome and had so much knowledge. Happy to answer all our questions and talk through out thoughts and ideas for regenerative pastures, sustainable soils, and how to increase the beneficial microbes and organisms for better soil, plant, and animal health creating a better beef product and thereby our human health too

‍CBA and UNE wins my vote for most practical take homes…. Socks, Beanies and bucket hats.

FarmFest Toowoomba - always worth a visit and becoming a real highlight of my yearly calendar. I always learn so much, you just have to be brave enough to ask the stupid questions!!
